“I began drinking green smoothies about mid-May 2013. I completely committed to making them a part of my routine by the end of May. I started merely for the health benefits and thought that the smoothies would be great way to get all my veggies in one fell swoop.
I had been on [a prescription medication for menopause] and was just starting my “resting” period after the first three month course. What I didn’t expect was that even now, two months into the “resting” period, my hot flashes remain minimal, the creepy crawly feeling I got EVEN when on the medication has vanished!
I’m completely sold on making green smoothies a part of my life and will not be going back on the menopause medication anytime soon. The symptoms of menopause are under control COMPLETELY naturally.
I am also maintaining my weight and I feel so much healthier.
I drink one medium green smoothie per day. My typical recipe is:
– 2 cups kale
– 2 cups spinach
– 1 scoop [green powder supplement]
– 1 medium banana
– 1/2 cup blueberries
– 1/2 cup raspberries
– 1/2 cup dark sweet cherries
– 1/2 peach
– 1/2 cup baby carrots
– 2 tablespoon flax meal
– 2 tablespoon chia seeds
I’m a carnivore. I love meat but I also eat lots of vegetables, fruit and I drink lots of water.
I’m a normally healthy eater. chicken, salmon, lean red meat, salads without dressing. I am watching fats but I will occasionally eat ice cream or buttery popcorn, just not in excess.
