Here’s a cleansing, invigorating tropical whole juice recipe that combines the power of citrus with the pleasure of pineapple. To mellow it all out is the fresh green taste of nopal cactus leaf.
This “bitter-sweet” juice is an excellent source of calcium and fiber. It’s super hydrating. Add a couple ice cubes for a chilled and healthy drink on a hot day.
I call this a “whole juice” because it is made in a blender, rather than a juicer. Water-rich fruits are blended together without base fruits (such as bananas or mangoes) and what you get is a delicious, fiber-rich juice that is perfect for detox.

Grapefruits contain compounds that interfere with certain medications such as statin drugs like Lipitor and Zocor. If you are on any medications, please consult with your doctor or pharmacist before consuming grapefruit.
Pineapple-Grapefruit Detox Juice Recipe
- 1 cup fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
- 1 cup pineapple, cubed
- 1 cup nopal, cubed (cactus leaf, needles removed)
Add all the ingredients to your blender and blend on high for 30 seconds.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
If you don’t have access to nopal, you can add one cup or small handful of your favorite leafy green like fresh baby spinach. You can use dandelion greens for an ultimate detox juice, but that flavor combination isn’t for the faint of heart – or taste buds!
NOTE: We recommend that you use a high-speed blender when making whole juices in order to get minimal pulp. The amount of pulp you get in other blenders may vary.
