Pineapple-Mango-Avocado Smoothie
This is a nutritious, creamy smoothie with a pineapple and mango flavor. I didn’t add any greens or other veggies because I wanted to keep it simple. You can add young coconut or even an orange to enhance the tropical flavor further. This smoothie has enough calories to make a great a meal replacement for those looking to loose weight.
You can add greens to this recipe. Because of the pineapple and mango, you can get away with bitter greens like dandelion and kale. Of course, fresh baby spinach is easily hidden so try that if you are feeling less adventurous. Adding greens will boost calcium, vitamin A and K levels as well as protein.
Speaking of protein, you can add a scoop of hemp or rice protein powder to make this smoothie an excellent meal replacement shake, adding only about 50 calories and 12 grams of protein, depending on which powder you use. It’ll be a great post-workout smoothie as well.
Pineapple-Mango-Avocado Smoothie Recipe
- 1/2 cup pineapple, cubed
- 1/2 mango, peeled and pitted
- 1/2 large avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1 tbs flax seeds
- 6 to 8 ounces of filtered water
Add all the ingredients to your blender, (I use a Blendtec) and blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
NOTE: If you are not using a high powered blender you’ll want to grind the flax seed in a coffee grinder before adding them to your smoothie.
