This delicious smoothie creation was sent to me by Chrissy. It’s green, it’s sweet and it’s got a heaping dose of minerals for you!
This smoothie makes about 12 ounces (depending on the size of the mango and cucumber you use) and it has a delicious tropical fusion flavor. The pineapple and mango blend nicely with the cucumber and spinach for a refreshing health drink.
Cucumber contains erepsin, an enzyme that helps to digest protein. Their skin is also very high in minerals and they make a great low calorie addition to your smoothie.
Mangoes are a great source of fiber. This smoothie contains about 25% of your daily recommend value!
Pineapple-“Green-aide” Smoothie Recipe
- 1 medium cucumber, chopped
- 2/3 cup pineapple, cubed
- 1 mango, peeled and pitted
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 8 ounces of filtered water
Start by adding the liquid to your blender (I use a Vitamix), followed by the soft fruit. Add the greens to your blender last. Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
Calcium: 10% RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance)
Vitamin A: 159% RDA
Vitamin C: 148% RDA
This smoothie is also a rich source of folate, vitamin B1 – B6, vitamin K, copper, magnesium, manganese and potassium.
