Whole Green Juice Recipes

By Tracy Russell

Do you need a nutrient-rich beverage without the bulk and heaviness of a green smoothie? Try a light and refreshing whole juice instead!

What Is A Whole Juice?

A whole juice is made in a blender, instead of a juicer. This means that whole juices are whole foods that include fiber, but are made with water-rich fruits to give it a much lighter consistency than a thick, creamy smoothie.

Whole juices are perfect for drinking first thing in the morning or between meals. They are especially good during times of illness. Juices replenish important vitamins and minerals with a low-calorie impact, so they can help people who are trying to lose weight.

Juices are excellent detox and cleansing foods, however, I don’t recommend an extended juice-only diet.

How To Make A Whole Juice

The trick to making a whole juice in your high-speed blender is to select water-rich fruits such as citrus, pineapple or grapes and blend them with greens, celery and other veggies. You’ll add more water, coconut water or fresh-squeezed fruit juice than you would for smoothies to get a juicy consistency. Add fresh ginger, lemon or lime for an added kick.
