Creamy Chocolate Smoothie Recipe With A Hint Of Vanilla
This delicious, creamy chocolate-vanilla smoothie is a concentrated source of calories so it makes a great on-the-go meal replacement. It’s a yummy smoothie treat rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
This recipe makes 8 ounces of smoothie, but you can always split it with someone instead of drinking it all at once. It has a good amount of protein so you can drink it before of after a workout.
I used cacao powder for this recipe instead of nibs or whole beans, which you would have to grind in a coffee grinder before using. Powder makes it creamier and is more convenient. Unfortunately, most cacao powders are not raw, so if this is important to you, stick with freshly ground cacao nibs or beans or look for Sunfood brand raw cacao powder at your local health food store or online.
Creamy Chocolate With A Hint Of Vanilla Smoothie Recipe
- 3 medium-sized, ripe organic bananas, peeled
- 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
- 1-2 teaspoons grated organic vanilla bean (or extract)
- 1/4 avocado, peeled and pitted
- 8 to 10 ounces of filtered water
Add all the ingredients to your blender, (I use a Blendtec) and blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
You can add 1-2 cups of fresh, organic baby spinach or other leafy greens for extra nutrition.
