Apple Avocado (Applecado) Smoothie Recipe
I recently made this apple and avocado smoothie and it was very delicious! It had a delicate, apple flavor with a whipped, smoothie texture. There are a lot of variations you can try with this recipe as well.
Avocados are high in omega-3′s and antioxidants, while apples are loaded with fiber and help with weighloss.
Applecado Smoothie Recipe
- 1 apple, cored (I prefer either a Golden Delicious or Granny Smith)
- 1/2 Haas avocado, peeled and pitted
- 3 to 4 ounces of filtered water
- A few ice cubes to chill
Add all the ingredients to your blender, (I use a Blendtec) and blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
The Applecado Green Smoothie
Place the same ingredients in a blender and add 2 cups of spinach or Swiss chard. I made this green smoothie with one cup fresh, chopped Italian parsley and 1 cup baby spinach.
Variations
You can make this smoothie with pear instead of apple. You can also double the recipe and use one apple, one pear and a whole avocado.
Add a couple leaves of fresh mint!
This smoothie is also good with protein powder.
